Ableton Live Lite 8 Download

I bought a Fender Mustang III amp a few months ago, and with it came free the use of Ableton Live Lite 8. I recently installed it and everything ready to use it, but when I plugged my amp into the computer (the Mustang has a port specifically for connecting to the computer), the computer picked it up, but Live Lite 8 did not recognise the amp as a source of input. From what I've seen on youtube videos, and on the video that came with the Ableton software as a 'how to' guide of recording with the software, it should show up in the External Input bar. It doesn't, and I therefore can't record direct from my amp to the computer, like I wanted to. Receiving the Ableton software wasn't my sole purpose for purchasing the Mustang amp, but I was looking forward to easy amp-to-computer recording of guitar tracks, and I've been pretty disappointed that I can't. Does anybody know why the software just isn't picking up my amp as a source of input?
