Install Silicon SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio driver for Windows 7 x64, or download DriverPack Solution software for automatic driver installation and update. The SoundMax webstie pointed me to my computer's manufacture for driver support; as they do not release drivers. I hope Dell will release a Windows 7 compatible driver. I understand Dell does not have too, however that would make me an unhappy customer. So, this is my appeal. Please Dell, release a Windows 7 compatible driver. Start Windows and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. Click Start, then click Control Panel. Make sure View by Category is selected, and click ' Uninstall a program '. Click SoundMAX, then click Uninstall. Download SoundMax Sound Card drivers, firmware, bios, tools, utilities. 'I had same problem with AD1888 but in 32 bit Win 7 (7000). Windows 7 installed driver for Soundmax and even updated it, but it didn't work at all. The problem was in driver number - 5.12.01.5290. I just replaced one file (smwdm.sys) from Asus Win XP driver pack for this card (5.12.01.3665) and rebooted the system. So I have sound now. '

Install Mobo Drivers Or Keep Win7 Drivers ?Dec 1, 2009
I have a simple question, I recently fresh installed Windows7 and was wondering if I should Install the new mobo drivers from the ASUS site (i have an ASUS P5Q Pro) or should I just keep the current microsoft drives for all the chipsets/lan/etc. The only Thing I installed was the Realtek sound driver. Would there be any advantages to install proper drivers? because right now my computer runs perfectly stable and smooth using the Windows7 ones.

Abit Drivers For Win7Nov 1, 2009
I'm having some problems with my motherboard now with Windows 7. It's an Abit motherboard and I'm getting a warning for the action center which states: 'Your power management system is missing a driver' and suggest the uGuru 3.1X.
Now is where things get annoying, Abit is shut down and their driver downloads are dead. Even if they were alive, there has not been made any utility for Windows 7 as it weren't out at the time they closed.
So I have a few questions I hope some of you can answer:
- Is it at all vitial to have this driver?
- Is it anywhere I can get one which work with Windows 7?
if none of the above
- Can I somehow force the action center to ignore this 'problem'? I hate having unsolved problems poping up there
A little additional question, anyone else having stability problems with the most recent windows messenger client on Windows 7 64bit?
Canon D 860 Win7 64 Bit DriversDec 3, 2009
Does any one have a fix for a Canon D860 Image class multifunction copier/printer?
It is recognized as a USB connection, but Canon has no windows 7 64 bit driver for it. I also hear the printer is being discontinued even though the price is the same as I paid for 3 years ago. It is a great photocopier and printer. Well it used to be a good printer!
I have already tried windows updating and I have driver detective as well. Struck out on all fronts. I looked at someone else's thread and I sent Canon support yesterday. They have not responded although they acknowledged the E-mail. Yeah, I guess this old bird is being sent to the old age home.

WMP54G Drivers For Win7Jun 15, 2009
This is the version 4 adapter. I've downloaded and installed the driver. It seems to finish the setup as it should and the computer recognizes the driver as installed. The device is listed under the 'unspecified' section in the device manager and says it needs trouble shooting.
Unsigned Drivers Questions On 64-bit Win7Aug 11, 2009
I currently have an old P4 running 32-bit Windows 7 RC. I don’t think I can put 64-bit on that machine, but I am considering 64-bit on the retail version when it is released in October. I tested about thirty 32-bit shareware and freeware applications on 32-bit Windows 7 RC and they all work well. My questions concern 32-bit drivers and unsigned 32-bit and 64-bit drivers on Windows 7 64-bit retail.
I have seen references to a BCedit command. I ran Bcdedit /set Bcdedit nointegritychecks ON on my Vista SP2 machine and it ran successfully. I have not tested what it will let me do as I now have no Vista driver issues. Here are my questions:
Which of these is the correct command to disable the signature check on Windows 7 RC?
bcdedit /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcedit –SET TESTSIGN NO
Is there any reason to use the correct command rather than using F8 during the boot process?
Does the correct command work for both unsigned 32-bit and unsigned 64-bit drivers on a 64-bit Windows 7 system?
Is the correct command useful on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 for driver signing issues generally?
I assume the command works for only 1 boot cycle. Given that, is there any reason to run a command to re-enable the driver signing check if one reboots again after the driver installation?
Is there any other solution other than third party software, which I would prefer to avoid as I don’t expect to run into a driver issue frequently?
What is a decent estimate of how many of my 32-bit applications that work well on 32-bit Vista SP2 will install and work well on 64-bit Windows 7 retail, assuming I use the correct command to disable the signature check?

GMA 500 Drivers Causing Issues In Win7May 7, 2009
So, I installed Windows 7 RC today on my Dell Mini 10 and everything was smooth sailing.
At this point my only available resolution was 800x576.
Windows Updates picked up a couple of drivers, one being the Intel GMA 500 drivers. I installed the drivers and the system restarts.
The restart seems slow. I have about 45 seconds of a black screen and my cursor can be moved easily and then all of the sudden the login appears.
I login and the taskbar comes up, but the desktop is black. If I refresh the desktop my wallpaper returns and everything runs fine. The resolution at this point is 1024x576.
If I disable the driver I'm back to square one.
Anyone else experience this problem? Is there a better driver that I should be using?
How Can I Test 64-bit Drivers/2nd Win7 InstallJun 27, 2009
I'm currently using Win 7 RC 32-bit on this comp, and am looking to move to 64-bit by the time RTM comes round.
My question is - everything except my scanner has 64-bit drivers. There is this program that included 64-bit compatibility with a large number of scanners, and mine is listed.
Bt-b19 bluetooth adapter user manual. Is there anyway I could install a second Windows 7 on a third partition (of this same hard drive), and try the driver with that to check it works? As I understand it you can't test drivers etc. in a VM install.
Nvidia Drivers Not Found In Win7Oct 21, 2009
I am having A 'HUGE' Issue I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. It installed the window VGA drivers and seems to not even see my Nvidia 9400GT 1GIG card. I have tried installing with the card in then reinstalled windows without the card in and restarted put the card in and the drivers bump'd right in and hide my card? Any help?????
I downloaded them right from Nvidia, and it gave me this here is a pic attached of what it said. This happened with both sets of drivers advised from Nvidia. I tried '191.07 WHQL' and 'nv19045_Win7Vista32'..
I have even set them to install in compatibility 'vista' mode and restarted into safe mode. Please any help would be amazing. I really love Windows 7 so far and do not want to go back to XP. Is there something I can do in the registry keys or something?
Graphic Drivers Problem Of Win7Jan 1, 2010
I have recently done Windows 7 Ultimate in my PC. Unforunately, the beautiful graphics are not turned on in this Window. I mean the crystal shape of every window and probably aero desktop functionality in not ON. After searching on Internet, I found that all graphic divers of Windows 7 are not installed.
Please tell me about all graphic drivers of Windows 7. I found one which is wddm 1.0. Unfortunately I am unable to download this driver yet. I request all of you to tell me all graphic drivers and thier download URL.
How To Stop Win7 Using WU Drivers During InstallJan 2, 2010
Finally moving all the main workstations over to Windows 7. In a test run yesterday - I noticed that Windows 7 jumps ahead of me in a big way right after the main desktop appears.
In the Vista/XP days - I would actually get to install my drivers in my preferred installation order. In this install - especially for graphics - before I even got to install my preferred nVidia drivers - I see that Win 7 has already grabbed and installed 195.65 - presumably from Windows Update - which I do not want.
What's the trick (if any) at 'first' desktop to get Windows 7 to hold it's horses and let me install what I want?

Realtek Drivers Don't Work In Win7 RtmOct 25, 2009
I was a succesful tester of Windows 7 RC, where the realtek audio drivers worked flawlessly. Recently i purchased and installed windows RTM Home Premium.
If you have the following symptoms when reinstalling windows 7 RTM with the realtek audio:
- No Realtek icon in the taskbar
- Cannot active the realtek driver window from control panel.
- The windows audio playing devices do not show up when requested..
For some reason, the realtek driver or Windows 7 RTM are not compatible anymore with RTM got released.
The problem is not with the driver, however, but with User Accounts Management security settings.
Install the latest driver from Realtek, which you find on the www.realtek.com. The version of the driver currently is 235.
Then, disable UAC through Control Panel -> System -> Change User Account Management, and reboot.
You'll notice now that the Realtek driver taskbar icon (the brown luidspeaker) shows up in your taskbar. Good news.
Click on the taskbar icon, and the RT driver windows shows up. In this window, you can change the driver operating from Stereo to 5.1.
Clearly, some things are wrong with audio in RTM. Because you cannot open the audio play devices dialog through the windows luidspeaker icon and right clicking the option from the menu.
So, maybe this is a preliminary work around.

Guide To Installing Un Signed Drivers In Win7 X64Jun 22, 2009
Since I made the Move to 64-bit a while back, Every once in a while, I would run into a Problem where I needed to Install Driver that was Un-Signed.
As A Security measure in the 64-bit Versions of Vista/7, All Drivers must come with a Secure Digital Signature.
This is not a large problem anymore with the fact that Most Drivers are Signed nowadays. But Older Hardware Drivers tend not to be Signed.
There is a Simple way around this Block.
Open the Command Prompt in Admin Mode (Type 'CMD' into the Start Menu and press 'Ctrl+Shift+Enter') Enter this Command: bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS Now when you Re-Boot, You should be able to Install those Pesky Un-Signed Drivers.
